Consent Culture: A Journey, not a DestinationKitty Stryker, the Berkeley-based author of "Say More: Consent Conversations for Teens", hosts a discussion group based on prompts from her book! All too often, the concept of consent is restricted to romance, but we grapple with it in multiple environments - in the workplace when asked for overtime, at a doctor's appointment when we don't feel heard, with family members who push our boundaries. Sure, "yes means yes" and "no means no", but there's a lot of grey area in between! Feeling a little lost? Join Kitty for a one-hour casual discussion on what "consent" means in a complex world. Let's get vulnerable as we talk about how we can implement a consent culture with compassion in our day-to-day lives. Come prepared to think critically and to listen curiously!
Kitty Stryker helped popularize the term "consent culture" over 14 years ago; she now writes, educates, and volunteers in the East Bay with her two cats, Camus and Bataille.
