Connie, Amalia and Kay have been wowing St. Louis audiences for over 40 years. Individually coming from strong musical backgrounds, they met as singers with the St. Louis Symphony Chorus and St. Louis Chamber Chorus in the 1980’s. In 1999 they were cast in their first show together, Noel Coward’s Bitter Sweet with The Hawthorne Players. They have since graced the stages of many local theater groups, sometimes two or all three performing in the same show. After Bitter Sweet, they co-founded a vocal quintet, aptly named “The Jeweltones” with Jenn Clodi and Kathy Fugate. In the 20 years they were busy performing, they recorded two CDs. The first, Facets, is a compilation of songs from Broadway and the Great American Songbook, and the second, entitled Gems of the Season, is Christmas music. You can find both CDs under “The Jeweltones” on Spotify and other audio streaming services. Connie and Amalia were music educators while Kay recently retired from the bank accounting industry. They are deeply grateful to their husbands and families for the support and love they have received over the years. Because they relish any opportunity that comes their way to sing together, finally bringing this concert to fruition is a dream come true for these timeless friends. “Because I knew you, I have been changed for good!”

Connie Krull Connie has been dabbling in the performance arts for nearly 6 decades. In that time, she added her voice to numerous choirs, light opera, the St. Louis musical theater community and several small ensembles, singing with Promise, The Jeweltones, Connie & Amalia and Terminally Hip. She holds an MA in Vocal Performance from the University of Missouri, Columbia and a BME from Northwestern University. Connie spent 18 years teaching music in the Lindbergh School District, before that, nine years at the St. Louis Community College at Meramec. She has been an active church musician since childhood. Most recently, after retiring from teaching, Connie has taken a deep dive into the study of theology at Covenant Seminary. Connie and her husband share 5 children (2 are in-laws), and 5 adorable grandchildren, of whom they can’t get enough. She is deeply grateful for Amalia and Kay for the many years of music making! I count it all joy!
Amalia LaViolette Amalia holds a Music Education degree from the University of Nebraska but performing is her love. She spent eight seasons as an alto section leader with the St. Louis Symphony Chorus, twice performing at Carnegie Hall and making her solo debut with the Symphony in 1996. She has been part of 14 musicals in the St. Louis area, nominated for each, and winning four Arts for Life awards. Amalia choreographed for four years for Connie‘s Lindbergh middle school show choir and continues to perform and book gigs throughout the metro area. She and Connie have been performing their duo show for almost 25 years and with Terminally Hip for eight. She and her husband Richard love to travel the world and are heavily involved in their church and animal rescue. They have two children, a son in law, and a greyhound.
Kay Love Kay has performed in over 140 theatrical productions including four seasons at the Muny. She sang with the St. Louis Symphony Chorus for 15 years, performing at Carnegie Hall five times, sang with the St. Louis Chamber Chorus for four years and Promise for eight years. Kay has created and performed in three solo cabarets. She’s been nominated for 31 Arts For Life awards, winning ten, and was nominated for two Theatre Circle Awards. Kay retired after a 32 year career in bank accounting, and now volunteers with Upstream Theatre, St. Louis Shakespeare, The Cabaret Project of St. Louis, and Singnasium (NYC). She has a BBA in Accounting from TCU and an MBA from SIU-E. She is deliriously happy to be married to Gerry, and they adore doting on their grandniece, Rose. Kay is so grateful to be performing with these life-long friends.
