This opportunity is FREE but advance registration is encouraged.

About the Co-Facilitators:

Born and raised in Buenos Aires, Argentina, painter Agustina Forest moved to Seattle in 2017 at the age of 23. All her life she felt a compulsion to draw, though it was in her early 20s that she allowed herself to dream wild and art became a viable career path. With time, effort, and a lot of consumed pencils she gave her heart the tools to express itself. Agustina nowadays is an award-winning children’s book illustrator, cartoonist, and fine artist. Conveying emotion in her art is the main focus of her work, and Agustina relies on a burst of emotion to create all of her pieces.

Sergej Buchholz currently engages traumatized youth in therapeutic poetry writing for the Pongo Poetry Project, leading workshops at Washington State's only state-operated and funded psychiatric hospital for children and youth. The work combines his interests in supporting youth in their growth; the arts, particularly poetry; and helping people heal. Hailing originally from Germany and having studied in the U.S. and Russia, he previously worked for over a decade in international educational youth exchange to provide young people the opportunity for the transformational experience that studying and living in another country can be. Sergej holds an M.A. in Slavic Languages and Literature and loves writing poetry, playing the flute, spending time with friends and family, and exploring the outdoors of the Pacific Northwest.
