About this Event

Speaker: Kristen Kenton, Founder & President Kenton Talent Management

Topic: Building Your Sphere of Influence and Developing Your Elevator Pitch

Networking does not have to be daunting if you do it right. It does not mean being a good “schmoozer” and it does not always include shaking random hands in a room full of people you don’t know. True networking simply involves “warming up” relationships with friends of friends or colleagues of colleagues. Learn how to build your Sphere of Influence

... it starts with getting to know yourself. Who are you? What is your value proposition? When should people think of you? What are your strengths and development opportunities? What does success look like, personally and professionally? Who will help you get there?

Kristen Kenton Bio: As the Founder & President of Kenton Talent Management (www.kentontalent.com), Kristen provides transformational recruiting, talent advisory and leadership development services to small-middle market business leaders, owners, and private equity firms across the country. She has been fortunate to work with some of the largest and most respected retained search leaders throughout her career, providing her with valuable insights into best (and worst) processes and practices associated with large, traditional retained search firms.

KTM was launched in 2009 with a fierce commitment to disrupting and redefining the recruiting and talent advisory industry. She is an activator and entrepreneur who strives to build long-term relationships with every client, every time. Kristen serves as a thought partner to C-level leaders, Business Owners and Private Equity firms that leverage her as a trusted people advisor throughout the employee lifecycle. Kristen possesses a deep understanding of both the art and science behind recruiting, developing, and retaining top talent.

Kristen recently served as a Vice President for Tri-Search, a project recruiting and retained search firm. Previously, she was a Principal & Executive Recruiter at Adam James International, where she led the firm’s “Transformational Leadership” practice (focused on senior-level talent needed to build, grow, transform or exit a business) as well as the international “Diversity & Inclusion” search division. Early in her career, Kristen launched the CO office as a Principal Consultant for McDermott & Bull, one of the fastest growing retained executive search firms in the Western United States. The company’s leaders came out of DHR International, a top ten search firm. Kristen held multiple roles at the firm, including building and professionalizing the Research & Recruiting function as the Director of Recruiting.

Kristen’s passion for building diverse leadership teams led to the development of the Executive Women’s Summit (www.executivewomenssummit.com) in 2007. Today, Kristen serves as the President & BOD Chair for the organization, with a focus on connecting and developing professional women and under-represented leadership talent. Exclusive, quarterly Women’s Summit Gatherings are designed for cross-functional leaders at the Director-level and above, and address controversial topics surrounding business and leadership. In 2016, Kristen launched the Executive Women’s Summit University (EWSU). This intensive leadership development and emotional intelligence program was designed exclusively for highly driven, professional women that want to “level up” as leaders and human beings. The development of the Executive Women’s Summit has enabled Kristen to expand her diversity, equity, and inclusion services to clients globally.

Kristen has a deep commitment to building and nurturing a vast network of executives and trusted advisors. She is known as a “master connector” and enjoys helping others build a powerful sphere of influence and memorable brand. Kristen is happily married and the mother of two amazing children, Simon and Lily. She is a CO native and appreciates spending time in the mountains. She enjoys being connected within her community, and has been a nominee of the Denver Business Journal’s “40 Under 40” and “Outstanding Women in Business” awards.
