• Mozart – Piano Concerto No. 23 in A major, K. 488 (solo piano transcription)
One of Mozart’s most beloved concertos, reimagined as an intimate solo narrative, emphasizing its crystalline textures and profound inner calm.
• Liszt – Paraphrase on Verdi’s Rigoletto
A dazzling fantasy based on Verdi’s famous quartet, transforming operatic drama into a pianistic tour de force—a fitting conclusion to an evening of rich romantic storytelling.
Artist Biography: Congyu Wang
Congyu Wang is widely celebrated as a consummate “complete musician”—sensitive, technically formidable, and deeply expressive . Born in Singapore, he began piano at age three and earned a scholarship to study at the École Normale de Musique de Paris with Jean Marc Luisada and Odile Catelin Delangle, later refining his artistry at the Schola Cantorum under Gabriel Tacchino, the only student of Francis Poulenc .
His competition record is stellar: Grand Prizes in Berlin and Bordeaux, and further awards across Europe and Asia. In a dramatic moment at the Chopin International Competition for Young Pianists in Slovenia, jury member François Weigel resigned in protest after believing Wang should have won the top prize . Wang has since captivated audiences in over 800 recitals globally, at major festivals in Europe, Asia, Africa, and beyond.
