DisclaimerThis was intended to be a club event, but I blasted this invite out to my entire FB friends list. I've known R3 to be a very welcoming crowd, but there are some things to know...
1. Safety first: Have a helmet, lights, spare tube, and have tools and know how to change a flat. This is no drop, so folks won't abandon you, and will probably even help.
2. If you don't know what a cycling kit is and can't comfortably ride 14 mph, this ride is probably not going to be fun for you. Connect with me on another ride, I'd be happy to ride with anyone : )
3. If not a member, you get a free pass, but its right and proper to be a dues paying member for the next ride.
4. Link to Strava route is below - simple out and back. I drove it...its clear and safe.
My personal goals this year are to ride and make friends.
So, I am posting a ride for 3/8 to Congregation Coffee in Detroit.
Start Location: Nankin Mills parking lot - Hines Drive
Start time: 10 am
What: About 40 miles round trip to Congregation Coffee in Detroit and back, with small extension past Detroit's Tiny Homes neighborhood. Stopping for coffee, of course!
Then you can enjoy your pub night brew knowing you earned it : )
Pace: 14 mph (depends on group, though I will stay at 14 mph)

This will be a social ride, so no drop. I'll ride with anyone, any speedsters are welcome to form an A/B group and leave me in the dust...I'm used to it.
I realize I'm not well known in R3. I joined last summer; attended several weekend coffee rides, and I really enjoyed meeting everyone. I may not draw a lot of folks but wanted to create an opportunity for everyone. And I just enjoy making routes and connecting with people.
Hope to see new and old faces.
If not next Saturday, then Wednesday rides are around the corner.
Note: Nankin Mills start because of the construction at Hines and Newburgh...I did not see a clean route from Wilcox.
