Whether you're a seasoned dancer or just starting out, this workshop is open to all levels. Come dance, sweat, and connect with others who share your passion for African dance!

Each workshop will be an exciting demonstration of teachers exchanging their skills and crafting something truly special—then teaching it to us!

About your teachers :

Plamedi Santima-Akiso is a Congolese-born, Wales-based multidisciplinary dance artist, choreographer, and cultural ambassador. As the founder of Afro-Jam Cardiff, the first Afro-Dance dedicated organization in Wales, Plamedi is at the forefront of pioneering and nurturing the Afro-Dance community in the country. With a deep commitment to introducing and expanding Afro Dance in Wales, her work is rooted in sharing the richness of African culture, creating meaningful connections, and celebrating diversity. Plamedi's vision through Afro-Jam Cardiff is to empower dancers by offering mentorship that encourages them to explore a variety of Afro-dance styles, push creative boundaries, and develop technical skills that can open doors to professional performance opportunities. She has established an inclusive and inspiring space where dancers of all levels can come together to share their passion for Afro Dance, embrace originality, and learn about the cultural history embedded within each movement. Beyond technique and performance, Plamedi uses Afro Dance as a medium to tell stories, foster a sense of belonging, and promote cultural understanding. Her goal is not only to spotlight the beauty of African dance but also to inspire others to embrace their own cultural identities. For Plamedi, every move carries history, identity, and a narrative that reflects the power of cultural heritage.

Ceecee is a renowned self-taught Ivorian Afro dancer who gained popularity through her viral Instagram dance videos in 2015. Born in France, she moved to England with her family in 2006. Ceecee states, “I had no intentions of going viral, nor was I seeking any fame.” It was her enthusiasm for music and dance that motivated her to start posting videos of her performances. “The videos went viral, and all of a sudden, I was being recognized in public. That’s pretty much how it started.” This public recognition opened the door to countless opportunities. Ceecee embodies pure, natural talent. Reflecting on her childhood, she remembers her proficiency in dance and her ability to learn choreography quickly. Her parents noticed her skill in dancing and how easily she picked up the latest routines. Although Ceecee did not initially choose dance as a profession, it has become what she is most known for, and she believes it was always her destiny. Many people are unaware that Ceecee overcame a significant challenge after undergoing head surgery, which required her to learn how to walk and dance again. For two years, she taught a dance class every Friday in London, where many young kids came to learn from her.

Ceecee has choreographed and collaborated with various artists, as well as taught and traveled around the world. She is an official dancer and recently returned from a Europe tour with Afrob for Jason Derulo. In addition to her dance career, she has a clothing line called “KBELLE,” with the slogan “Sweat in Style,” offering gym wear for women.

IVK (IG/TT: Ivoriankid is a Ivorian Content Creator and dancer Based in Nottingham. IVK has been someone who has always had a passion for dancing and started posting in 2016 with his cousin . Coupé décalé has always been something that’s been running in his genes through childhood and eventually he decided to display that through Instagram. In 2018 his passion for Afrobeats grew once he danced in a competition called Big Clash when he was in college. During this time he was new to the afrobeats world and came across new people , learning new dances along the way. As years passed by he had opportunities to work and dance in shows for artists like Fally Ipupa , Naza , Dadju and etc. At the end of 2020 he discovered tiktok and started posting there which skyrocketed in just months. That being the reason he had more opportunities to dance in countries like the Netherlands , France , Germany and hopefully more to come. A humble , energetic human being who is always down to show his passion within himself and others.
