I’m Aïssa Sara Edon — an international French-British midwife, FGM activist, and I passionate advocate for women’s health, based in London.
Born in Africa and a survivor of female genital mutilation (FGM) myself, I speak publicly about my experience to raise awareness, break the silence, and drive lasting change.
With over 16 years of experience supporting families across Europe, Africa, and the Middle East, I specialize in trauma-informed, compassionate maternity care — particularly for first-time mothers, survivors of trauma, and those navigating pregnancy and parenthood far from home.
I am the founder ofThe FGM Hope Clinic, an organization supporting survivors of FGM, and I have worked extensively with Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF), the NHS, and other international healthcare systems. In recognition of my work, I was named one of the BBC’s 100 Women in 2015 and received the Mary Seacole Leadership Scholar Award from the Royal College of Nursing.
Through virtual consultations in English and French, I offer expert, personalized care in pregnancy, birth preparation, postnatal support, and women’s health advocacy. I combine clinical excellence with deep emotional support — because I know how vital it is to be truly seen, heard, and empowered.
