One of the most beautiful yet underrated mountains in the Everest region. The Pikey Peak Trek offers a peaceful journey for trekkers, free of crowds with trails that playfully meander in the region’s verdant pine and rhododendron forests.

The hiking trails to Pikey Peak take you through the lower regions of Solukhumbu, home of Namche Bazaar- the renowned mountain town that is the gateway to Mount Everest. It is a magnificent journey filled with unforgettable sights of glistening, snow-covered peaks that rise like jagged serration over the landscape.
When you stand on top of Pikey Peak, you cannot agree more with Sir Edmund. He said that it was the most exceptional viewpoint in Nepal. Everest, Makalu, Kanchenjunga, Annapurna, Gaurishankar, Lhotse, Nuptse, AmaDablem, Sishapangma, Thamserku, and Mera Peak.

This trek unlike the well-known Everest Base Camp Trek has panoramic views of the Himalayas throughout the trek. Typically, the closer you go to the mountains on a journey, the less you see of the peaks as they are so huge they block out views of each other.
Sunrise provides incredible photo opportunities as the mountains reflect off their gleaming snow-white peaks. Pikey Peak is also less crowded as it is relatively new.

Unlike EBC which is rated as difficult, it is rated as easy to moderate difficulty. Beginners must be active in other activities like gym and running but new to hiking have to train on uneven terrain with slopes.

Pikey Peak is 4065 meters which although seems challenging does not have the same dangers of altitude sickness with proper acclimatization. The threat of altitude sickness is almost very low.

No need to; unlike the challenging flight to Lukla airport for EBC. You do not need to bear the fear of flight cancellation (Unlike the dangerous flight to Lukla) and postponement because the start point can be driven from Kathmandu & at the endpoint, you can drive back to Kathmandu.

You must be physically and emotionally prepared to attain height and distance. A few weeks before the walk, jogging, running, swimming, and leg exercises would be excellent physical training to prepare yourself for the trek.
