Confined Space Rescue Technician is a 32-hour course, designed for the rescue professional who has previously attended Rope Rescue and Confined Space Operations as well as Hazardous Materials Operations. Students will gain advanced knowledge for rescue rigging, confined space entry and rescue procedures, as well as an understanding of the interface between hazardous materials and the confined space rescue scene.This course exceeds NFPA 1670 objectives and will focus on advanced rescue techniques as well as implementation of the most advanced rescue equipment available.
Students attending will also receive an NFPA Confined Space Technician certificate of attendance from the International Technical Rescue Association (ITRA). This course is also eligible for hazardous materials refresher hours with the Illinois State Fire Marshal.
Confined Space Rescue Technician is being offered through a partnership with NIPSTA and will be presented on NIPSTA's Glenview campus.
