Confidence in the Kitchen
About this Event
Please join us for our "Confidence in the Kitchen" class on October 17th, 2026 from 1:15 PM to 2:15 PM at the Jackson YMCA! This one-hour class invites participants ages 16 to 25 with autism to grow their confidence with kitchen activities, including hand hygiene, using kitchen appliances, measuring ingredients, and making a recipe.
Following the in-person class, participants will receive a packet of visual supports and complete two online modules to continue growing confidence with skills at home.
This class is being developed as part of an occupational therapy capstone project for one of our board members.
Participants/parents/guardians will be asked to provide consent for data collection in a follow-up email before the event.
PLEASE NOTE: At least one parent/guardian must be present with the participant during the class.
