What Is Confession?In confession, I simply reveal my sins to Christ — without analyzing myself, comparing myself to others, or judging myself. I do not measure my progress or diagnose my spiritual state. I present my sins plainly to Christ, my true Physician.
The Holy Fathers remind us: “Do not measure yourself.” Pride and despair both come from self-analysis. Confession is not storytelling, self-justification, or self-condemnation. It is humble revelation.
Confession offers forgiveness of the sins we confess and restores our focus where it belongs — on Christ. It brings humility, peace, and freedom.
It is not about becoming sinless. It is about being reconciled and re-oriented toward Christ.
