Leading scholars examine religion, secularism, constitutional law, and fundamental rights in an era of political change.
About this Event

Join us for a thought-provoking conference honoring the scholarly contributions of Susanna Mancini and Michel Rosenfeld, two leading voices in comparative constitutional law and democracy studies. Through three expert panels, distinguished scholars from leading institutions in the United States and Europe will explore the evolving relationship between religion, secularism, constitutional interpretation, and fundamental rights.

Topics will include the role of religion in contemporary politics, the rise of anti-secular constitutional approaches, and the challenges facing women's rights in both liberal and illiberal constitutional systems. The conference will conclude with reflections from Professors Mancini and Rosenfeld on the future of constitutional democracy and human rights.

Co-sponsored by the Floersheimer Center for Constitutional Democracy and the Jacob Burns Institute for Advanced Legal Studies, this event brings together legal scholars, students, and practitioners for a timely discussion of some of the most pressing constitutional questions of our time.
