About this Event

The heart of any good story is passion. Whether it be the passion of the characters themselves or the passion of the writer for the subject matter. However, in order to create a truly great piece of fiction, it is important to understand the importance of research. Research allows writers to add nuance and depth to their stories, making them more than just entertainment; it makes them literature. This intensive workshop, led by published author and award-winning educator Dr. Martin Glynn, will teach you how to conduct the kind of research that will take your writing to the next level.

You'll learn how to find and use primary sources, how to effectively use secondary sources, and how to incorporate your research into your narrative in a way that enhances your story without detracting from its power. Whether you're interested in historical fiction or want to write a piece with broader significance, this workshop is for you. With Dr. Glynn's guidance, you'll be conducting research like a pro in no time.
