Join us on Saturday February 8th for a very important event. CONDEMNED February Edition will be a fundraiser to help our friend DJ Blue Jay with his ongoing fight against cancer. All proceeds from the event will be donated to the cause and we'll have a donation box available for anyone who wants to contribute more.
DJ Blue Jay is one of the longest standing and most significant contributors to Edmonton's alternative music scene. Starting in the late 1990s as a DJ at The Rev & Lush, he quickly moved on to New City Suburbs as a co-DJ for the weekly (and now legendary) Saturday Sucks club night. He's also responsible for co-managing and DJing other long running events including I Love 80s, The Mod Club, and Transmission, not to mention over a decade of gigs at The Black Dog and The Buckingham.
Unfortunately Jay's battle with cancer has now been going on for just over two years, and has required numerous surgeries. This fight has left him unable to work and the next phase of his treatment is going to be especially difficult. He could use a little help from the community that has benefited so much from his creativity. The CONDEMNED Team is happy help and we hope you'll join us in providing whatever support you can.
So come out and dance the night away as BVRIED IN BL▲CK and The Revenant bring you an eclectic mix of dark sounds from the 80s, 90s, 2000s, and beyond. You can expect to hear a diverse selection of Darkwave, Goth Rock, Industrial, EBM, New Wave, and more! All creatures of the night are welcome!
