After a decade of creative partnership between singer/guitarist Susan Tedeschi and her husband, guitarist Derek Trucks, the GRAMMY-winning Tedeschi Trucks Band carries a distinguished reputation earned from both audiences and critics as one of the premier live bands in the world.
Embracing improvisation over convention, the collective is adept at exploring almost any musical territory, and paying homage to an extensive canon of influences. Trucks’ masterful guitar skills and Tedeschi’s soaring vocals and bluesy guitar shine but don’t overpower the breadth of talent, happily yielding the spotlight as needed in service of what the song deserves.
As circumstances currently prevent the 12-piece ensemble from touring safely, the group returns in a new form, billed as Tedeschi Trucks as a nod to their band members back at home. With 4-8 band members slated to appear at socially-distant, limited-capacity venues, these special shows are long-awaited by band and fans alike.
Tedeschi Trucks have partnered with debra of America to perform in the “Concerts to Cure at Coolray Presented by debra of America” monthly concert series on August 21 & 22 at Coolray Field in Lawrenceville, GA, home to Atlanta Braves’ Triple A affiliate, the Gwinnett Stripers.
debra of America is a not for profit company that is dedicated to increasing the quality of life of those living with Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB), a rare genetic disease that causes fragile skin leading to open wounds. In combating this disease, debra of America provides free services to those living with EB, while funding the most innovative science intended to treat and cure EB.
Presented in a socially distanced format, attendees will be able to enjoy Coolray Field’s amenities, while feeling the warmth and joy of live music again through the state of the art sound and lighting while supporting a not for profit company helping the children who suffer EB.
