The 16th season of Concerts on the Creeks continues with a performance by the Darren Nicholson Band from 7-9 p.m. on Friday, June 27 at Bridge Park in Sylva, N.C.Jackson County native Darren Nicholson is a Grammy nominee and 13-time International Bluegrass Music Association award winner. He's made multiple performances on the Grand Ole Opry and is a recipient of the Order of the Long Leaf Pine, the highest honor bestowed by North Carolina's governor.
The Darren Nicholson Band consists of Avery Welter on guitar/vocals; Aynsley Porchak on fiddle; Kevin Sluder on bass/vocals; and Richard Foulk on percussion. The Darren Nicholson Band is a group of Appalachian musicians who have common respect for and love of American acoustic music. They are known for creatively blending bluegrass, folk, gospel, and swing, into a new music experience.
Concerts on the Creek finished No. 6 in the USA Today's Top 10 Best Outdoor Concert Series events for 2024.
These events are free with donations encouraged. Everyone is welcome. Dogs must be on a leash. No smoking, vaping, coolers or tents allowed. Bring a chair or blanket. There will be food and beverage vendors on site.
