A folk band that has been lighting up dance halls takes center stage with energetic takes on Balkan, Scandinavian, and other world music
About this Event

Many people who hear about a folk band called Zimzala think that the name must be some obscure musical term from a foreign language. It is, if you count surfer slang. Zimzala is defined as "A person with a free and open mind," and band co-founder Bob Altman defines it as "that feeling you get with the sand between your toes, the sun on your face, and the wind at your back." That's the attitude this band has toward music, free and just a bit irreverent. They'll play tunes from all over Europe and pieces of the USA, tell some stories about them, and surprises are in store for the musically adventurous and eclectic.

Zimzala is:

Lee Otterholt: vocals, mandolin

Marcella Lawson: vocals, flute, ukelele

Lisa Taylor: vocals, guitar, ukelele

Bob Altman: keyboard

Sable Cantus: bass

Errol Strelnikoff: drums

This concert will be livestreamed using our multi-camera system, and those who purchase the livestream may watch it up to one week afterward - if you're busy at the moment of the show, it's no problem.
