Now in its 34th year, Concert of Colors is one of the nation's longest-running and largest free global music festivals. Held annually throughout Midtown Detroit, the festival brings together artists from around the world for a celebration of music, culture, and community. Performances and programs take place across the city's leading cultural institutions and neighborhood venues throughout Detroit.

San Francisco's Kronos Quartet has spent decades at the forefront of revolutionizing the string quartet into a living art form that responds to the people and issues of our time. For Concert of Colors, they perform “Glorious Mahalia,” a new work honoring gospel queen Mahalia Jackson.
