Becky Tracy (fiddle) and Rachel Bell (accordion) formed Eloise & Co. in 2015 to explore their love of multiple genres, from gritty French tunes to soaring Celtic and Quebecois melodies. They are renowned in the national contra dance sphere and are respected in the increasingly popular bal-folk scene for which they host their own dance series outside of Brattleboro.
Becky and Rachel often play as a duo or with a cast of amazing guitar players, but in 2017, they found themselves in a spontaneous jam session with Quebecois pianist extraordinaire Rachel Aucoin at a summer music camp. The musical chemistry was instant and palpable, and the three decided right then and there that they had to play together again. Re-uniting in 2024 after a five year hiatus prompted by the pandemic, the three eagerly launched into the creation of an album, “avec Elodie” which is due for release the weekend of this concert.
People who are hearing the music for the first time are responding with enthusiasm: “My goodness what a beautiful album” from their mastering engineer, Dana Billings.
