Concert Conversations: Carmina Burana

Go Behind the Music: Carmina Burana
What makes Carmina Burana so powerful—and why has Carl Orff’s music captivated audiences for generations? Join Larimer Chorale Artistic Director Mike Krueger for a free, informal pre-concert conversation exploring one of the most thrilling works in the choral repertoire.
Mike will share the stories behind Orff and Carmina Burana, offer insight into the medieval poems that inspired the work, and explore what makes this music so dramatic, rhythmic, and unforgettable. You’ll hear live and recorded musical examples, get a behind-the-scenes glimpse into the Chorale’s rehearsals and preparation, and discover what to listen for when the Chorale takes the stage with a full orchestra.
Come curious, bring your questions, and bring a brown-bag lunch if you’d like! No musical expertise required—just an interest in hearing the story behind the music.
