Concert Band presents: "A Love Story" and Wind Orchestra presents: "Remembering Sousa: The American Bandmaster"
Tuesday, November 17, 2026 | 7:00 PM | Rialto Center for the Arts
The Georgia State University Concert Band and Wind Orchestra share the stage for an evening of two distinctive programs.
The Concert Band opens the evening with A Love Story — a program charting the many faces of love through music that is tender, playful, longing and triumphant by turns. The concert features Ryan George's charming Café 512 (2010) conducted by Jacob Brown, Kelijah Dunton's heartfelt Wishes and Wantings (2022) conducted by Israel LaFleur, John Philip Sousa's Prince Charming, Giacomo Puccini's soaring "Nessun Dorma" from Turandot featuring euphonium soloist Roger Pomposello, and Katahj Copley's luminous Halcyon Hearts (2021).
After a brief intermission, the Wind Orchestra presents Remembering Sousa: The American Bandmaster — a celebratory tribute to John Philip Sousa, the March King. The program weaves together Sousa classics and originals with other classic pieces of the time, including the dazzling Carnival of Venice featuring euphonium soloist Dr. Adam Frey.
Admission is free and open to the public.
