About this Event

Loving Room brings local performers and music lovers with a mission to provide intimate and inspiring experiences in beautiful cosy spaces. Because who doesn’t want to discover new locations and upcoming talent all in the same space at the same time?

The theme will be ‘Nature’s Serenade‘, given the beautiful location.It’s six of us and we will perform in couples (30 min per couple). Each couple includes a poet and a musician.

Giacomo Boffi is an Amsterdam based poet. His work reflects on the human experience, exploring themes of connection, longing, and irony. Taking inspiration from poets and songwriters, he connects personal episodes to universal paths. At times evocative, at times playful, Giacomo indulges in sharp social commentary and primordial tenderness.

Andrew Andrew Dillion

Andrew P. Dillon's (he/him) debut collection, The Great Permission (thegreatpermission.com), is the first poetry booksite—a collection built exclusively for the web. His work has been published in several print & online journals. He is an American poet living in Amsterdam.

Michelle

Michelle de Hosson is 28 years old and ‘een echte Amsterdammer’. She started to write songs and play music in summer 2023 and since then it’s her daily addiction. She’s still developing her personal style, but all her songs are a expression of the feelings experienced in (love)relationships. ‘Sometimes it’s just better to sing about it’

Paul

Paul is a professional writer, living and working in Amsterdam. He is currently working on a creative non- fiction trilogy about his strange life’s in Prague, Los Angeles, and Amsterdam from 1993 to 2005.Philosopher, artist , musician; writer of prose, poetry, and songs, Paul explores and expresses topics relating to connection and disconnection with nature, others and ourselves and our love/hate relationship with technology.

Tom Fuchs is a folk musician raised in New York and Tel Aviv. He blends American, Israeli, and Iraqi family traditions to tell stories of loss, longing, and love, transporting you to a time and place where things may have once been better. He is inspired by his grandfather, Salach Al Shibli, who sang for the king of Iraq, and he is influenced by Shlomo Artzi, Oum Koulthoum, Bob Dylan, Nina Simone, Ehud Manor, and Bill Withers.

Dawn Dibble

Dawn Dibble is a poet based in Amsterdam, whose work intricately explores the complexities of the human experience. Her slice-of-life poetry captures the essence of love, the evolution of the self, and the resilience required to navigate life’s woes. Though comforting in honesty and simplicity, her poetry unveils bitter sweet yet hopeful layers of insight and introspection as she explores the timeless search for meaning, fulfillment and the moral questions that define our existence. Drawing inspiration from crossed lives and the quiet introspection of her own journey, Dawn’s poetry resonates with readers who seek to understand the profound depths of what it means to be human.

D uring the open mic, 6 more shortlisted musicians can showcase their own songs after the concert. Please sign up with a musician ticket for this event if you want to perform and bring with you your instruments. We will have a capacity of maximum 6 musicians, 1-2 songs per musician.

Location: Restaurant Bosbaan

Time: Doors open at 2 pm. We start playing around 2:30pm.
