Internationally renowned drummer and composer Yogev Shetrit celebrates the release of his third album Way of Tradition. Rooted in Moroccan, Andalusian and Near Eeast tradition, Shetrit blends world music with grooves and melodies of modern jazz. In this special event you will not only taste Shetrit’s newest music, but also the traditional Moroccan Harira soup, which the artist’s mom used to serve to him when he was a little child. With the soup, we’ll serve home baked bread and biscuits.
Since the release of his first solo album in 2016, Shetrit has been constantly touring all across Asia, Africa, Europe, South America and the United States. Playing over 120 concerts a year, Shetrit is one of the most on-demand jazz composers on the modern jazz scene.
In this concert, Shetrit will be accompanied by the renowned pianist Eyal Lovett - awarded as Artist of the Year by Jazzy Berlin and The Absolute Winner at Jazz Wings Warszawa. On double bass, you will hear Jan Sedlák - internationally acclaimed bassist who has toured all across Europe from Malta to Finland.
Having studied music in New York, both Yogev Shetrit and Eyal Lovett keep regularly returning to the American jazz scene. Expect a vibrant evening full of energy, rhythm and soul.
