The 1st Infantry Division Band is the musical ambassador for the United States’ premier fighting force. The Big Red One Band represents the 1st Infantry Division for military ceremonies and the communities that support the American Soldier. This multifaceted popular music ensemble will play a variety of music to include country and classic rock.
The 1st Infantry Division Band will be joined by the Commanding Generals Mounted Color Guard. Established in 1992, the Commanding General’s Mounted Color Guard provides a link to Fort Riley’s historic past. Troopers and horses of this unit are outfitted in the uniforms, accouterments, and equipment of the Civil War period. The color guard will offer wagon rides pulled by two mules and an encampment with the horses.
All concerts are outdoors and feature lawn seating. Guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets, and picnics are welcome. Concessions are available from Golden Eagle Hot Dogs. Standard etiquette applies. Be respectful of your neighbors so that everyone can enjoy the concert. No smoking in the seating area. No pets. No alcohol.
