Do you know everything you need to know to protect yourself? Do you want to know more? This series will teach you what you need to know.The first six modules are two hours and $75 each and run from 6-8 PM. Module 7 is $100 and runs from 6-9 PM. Module 7 has a pre-requisite of three of the previous modules to be accepted.

January 13th
Module 1: Personal and Home Protection Plan
• This first module covers situational awareness, conflict avoidance, home defense planning, and how all of this comes together to develop a personalized plan for avoiding violent encounters.
• There will be several “thought experiments” in this module where students are asked to use what they have learned to determine the proper course of action in specific scenarios.
January 27th
Module 2: Firearm Basics
• The second module covers basic pistol and rifle safety, operation, and care, ammunition, and considerations when choosing a firearm and ammunition for different activities. We also cover non-lethal defensive options.
February 10th
Module 3: Shooting Fundamentals
• The third module covers the differences between defensive shooting and marksmanship, explains body mechanics, proper grip, stance, sight picture and alignment, and trigger control.
• There are a couple of short “hands-on” exercises that do not require the use of live firearms.
February 24th
Module 4: Legal Use of Force
• The use of force module explains the differences between lethal and non-lethal force, reasonable force, and how this translates into a courtroom. We also talk more about when, what, and where you are legally allowed to defend.
• We will bring in a member of the bar association (lawyer) who has experience with 2A court cases.
March 10th
Module 5: Violent Encounters and The Aftermath
• The violent encounters module covers the physiology of how the body reacts before, during, and after a violent encounter. How a person identifies and evaluates options, and then chooses how to react. We also discuss what to say and do when police arrive, and what the repercussions of being involved in an event will entail, even if all laws were followed to the letter.
• We will bring in a member of the bar association (lawyer) who has experience with 2A court cases.
March 24th
Module 6: Concealed Carry Gear and Gadgets
• The Gear & Gadgets module will cover the types of EDC options, along with how to choose which options are right for each person. We also talk about laser/reflexive aiming devices and gun storage equipment.
• This will include a “hands-on” demonstration where students get to see, touch, and/or try on different styles of holsters, including IWB, OWB, belly bands, ankle holsters, , purses, bra holsters, etc. along with accessories like belts and appropriate clothing choices.
April 7th
Module 7: Basic and Advanced Skills Training
• The final module will have a classroom component that covers how to create a custom training program and different drills and skills that can be used to develop improved proficiency.
• There will also be a live fire component this class where we will practice several of the described drills on a closed range. This will allow you to run similar drills on your own once you are familiar with them.
