Computing and Online safety conference for primary schools

Online Safety & Data Security (morning - full timings TBC)

This session is for computing subject leaders, senior leaders, safeguarding leads and other relevant school staff.

Falling in the lead up to Safer Internet Day 2022 (Tuesday 8 February), the morning of the conference will have a particular focus on online safety, bringing together a variety of external resources with expertise from within the CLC team to help schools get to grips with the complexities of online safety and data security.

Having attended this part of the conference, participants will:

• understand the key aspects of an effective school online safety strategy
  
• know about initiatives, resources and partner organisations that can provide support for pupils, parents and school staff
  
• be aware of statutory requirements and know how to report illegal content and activity
  
• have learned about policy requirements and best practice with input from school-based colleagues
  

Leading Computing in the Classroom (afternoon - full timings TBC)

This portion of the day is for computing subject leaders, senior leaders and teachers interested in the use of technologies across the curriculum. It will include policy and curriculum updates as well as practical workshops and opportunities to hear from colleagues in other schools.

Having attended this part of the conference, participants will:

• be able to support and lead school colleagues in teaching the computing curriculum in a blended learning context, leading digital learning across a school and in using digital technologies across the curriculum
  
• know more about policy and practice in online safety, digital skills and the computing curriculum
  
• be up-to-date with innovation in technology and pedagogy
