Our tasks for the day may include:

• Collecting and chopping food scraps
• Building a new compost pile
• Turning compost bins
• Sifting and bagging finished compost

JH SCRAPS (Scraps Collection for Restoring the Area’s Poor Soil) makes finished compost used in public spaces throughout Jackson Heights, enhancing depleted urban soils and improving for water retential, both of which support resilience in response to climate change. Volunteer to make an impact in your neighborhood!
