Moderator: Ruben De Gheselle (composer, ‘Clara Sola’) Looking back at his rich oeuvre, Elliot Goldenthal talks us through the creative process that has led to award-winning scores like ‘Frida’, ‘Alien³’ and ‘Batman Forever’. A selection of his work will be performed by the Brussels Philharmonic conducted by Dirk Brossé during the 24th WSA Ceremony & Concert, where he will receive the WSA Lifetime Achievement Award.
Elliot Goldenthal has done what only few can: writing over forty recognizable film and television scores, that clearly carry his characteristic artistic fingerprint, and yet surprising every time. Looking back at his rich oeuvre, the American Composer talks us through the creative process that has led to award-winning scores such as ‘Frida’, ‘Alien³’ and ‘Batman Forever’. His fusion of styles and genres is not only unique and refreshing, but has inspired many fellow composers. During this one-on-one conversation, Goldenthal gives insight in his sources of inspirations and discusses the milestones of his career.
