Join us for Compline, in the church or online, at 7:00 PM on Sunday, September 19. What is Compline? In short, Compline is a sung prayer service. Compline consist of psalms, short passages from scripture, an office hymn, canticle, litany, collects and additional prayers. The offering of prayer in the evening, by laity or clergy, has sometimes been described as the "goodnight prayer of the church.” It rounds off the day and prepares us for a quiet night. Compline is offered when the work of the day is completed, and the quietness of evening settles over the hearts and minds of those who have come together in thankfulness for the blessings of the day, and in anticipation of God's gift of a new day.
