Mindful Gratitude and Minding Our Table Manners
Saturday, November 14th, 9:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
Room 8 Unitarian Universalist Congregation, 2701 Heyward St., Columbia, SC
Compassionate communication is a lifelong practice that nurtures us, our relationships, and our earth communities. Skills are also helpful in the short term to help us navigate the complexities of politics and family dynamics, which may especially surface during this season of gratitude. During our time together we will review the basic tenets of Nonviolent Communication and engage in practices that can help, even in trying times, grow our social and emotional intelligence, and connection to this beautiful earth.
Rev. Dr. LoraKim Joyner will be our facilitator during this workshop. Certified as a Nonviolent Communication Trainer in 2009, she has led workshops, worship services, and webinars for many UU congregations and other organizations. She considers this as one of her personal and foundational spiritual practices. Currently she serves as a Community Minister for the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Columbia, South Carolina and Codirector of One Earth Conservation.
