Valahol, a nem is olyan távoli jövőben….egy család a vasárnapot készül együtt tölteni, hagyományaihoz híven. Ám a falak megremegnek, odakint erős szél és szakadó eső támad, és a vihar még csak most kezdődik. E klimatikus káosz közepette a főszereplők abszurd módon próbálják fenntartani a normális családi élet látszatát.
A Vasárnap az ember leleményességének és makacsságának példázata, költői vizualitással és páratlan tárgymanipulációval fűszerezve. Megmutatja, miként próbálja az ember megőrizni a mindennapi szokásait, akár képtelen szélsőségekig elmenve, hogy fenntartsák a normalitás életérzését az ökológiai összeomlás okozta káosz ellenére.
A Vasárnap a belga Focus és Chaliwaté társulatok közös produkciója. A különböző háttérrel rendelkező társulatok már hosszú ideje követik egymás munkásságát. Hamar világossá vált, hogy hasonló esztétikájú műveket alkotnak és közös az elköteleződésük a szokatlan színházi formák iránt. Mintha ugyanazt a vizuális-költői színpadinyelvet beszélnék. Együttműködésüket sokszoros siker koronázza, előadásuk körbeturnézza kisbusszal Európát, valamint rengeteg díjat is begyűjtött az útja során: többek között a rangos Maeterlinck díjat (belga kritikusok díja) is, amit 2020-ban a legjobb előadás valamint legjobb művészi és technikai kivitelezés kategóriában nyertek el.

Between dreamlike fiction and factual reality, Dimanche / Sunday paints a witty and tender portrait of humanity surprised by the uncontrollable forces of nature.
A family is about to spend their Sunday together, a family tradition. But the walls are shaking, strong winds and torrential rain rage outside and the storm has only just begun.
Amidst this climatic chaos, the protagonists absurdly attempt to maintain a normal family life. In doing so, Dimanche / Sunday observes the ingenuity and stubbornness of humans as they try to preserve their day-to-day habits, going to absurd extremes to keep up a sense of normalcy despite the chaos of an ecological collapse.
For Dimanche / Sunday Focus Company and Chaliwaté Company come together to write and create a surprising and touching performance. For a long time they have been following and appreciating each other’s work. It became clear that they had a similar approach to our art and it was obvious that they shared a common taste for unusual theatrical forms. As if they spoke the same visual, artisanal and poetic language.
