Community Workday at Eastern Senior High School's Garden!

About the Garden: City Blossoms partners with Eastern through our garden-based Youth Entrepreneurship Cooperative program. At the core of the program is a youth-led business called Mighty Greens. Using the cooperative business model, participants combine elements of environmental and food justice with job readiness skills.

Workday Details: We will convene in the garden for a quick introduction and hand washing. During this Workday we will focus on:

• re-establishing the garden’s pathways
• weeding the in-ground beds and pollinator sections
• resetting stone borders
• spreading fresh soil and mulch
• planting

This Workday is part of a series of events to help get this garden ready and safe for fall programming to start back up with our high school participants. Please dress in closed toe shoes and outdoor clothes you don’t mind getting dirty. Face masks are required. Everyone is encouraged to bring water bottles, sunscreen, and bug spray.

Additional Notes: Limited parking will be available within the school's lot. All volunteers should enter through the garden, which is located on the right side of the school (beside to the tennis courts).
