About this Event
Welcome to Community Voices: Theater of the Oppressed Workshop!
Join Noelle Dominique Rodriguez—a vibrant, expressive, and playful Xicana artist and teacher whose curiosity knows no bounds—for an immersive experience where theater meets social change. Obsessed with clowning, commedia dell'arte, and the magic of wordplay, Noelle channels her passion for performance into revitalizing language and culture through dynamic exploration.
Drawing deeply from her East LA roots and ancestral homelands in Mexico and the USA, Noelle has dedicated her life to understanding and decolonizing herself through the transformative power of theater. Her journey has taken her across the globe, from leading powerful workshops for young Women of Color in London to teaching Voice and Movement at Pepperdine University, where she helps actors connect with their bodies, voices, and emotions.
In this workshop, you’ll step into a brave, supportive space where you can explore your identity, express yourself freely, and connect with your cultural heritage. Designed for leaders, activists, and community members, this event offers a unique opportunity to engage in the powerful techniques of Theater of the Oppressed—no prior theater experience required. Come with an open mind and a willingness to participate as we turn conversations into action and collectively work towards healing, education, and social change.
Secure your spot and join me in this transformative experience. See you there!
