Community Tree Planting

Ohio City Incorporated is hosting a Tree Planting Day at Lakeview Estates in celebration of Earth Day. We'll be planting 30 trees - so dress accordingly! Entertainment and food and drink will also be provided.

Directions to the event: Lakeview Terrace Apartments, North of Lakeview Apts at W. 25th and River Rd  

There is an air quality issue in the neighborhood.  Industrial land adjacent to Lakeview public housing emits harmful particulate matter known as criteria air pollutants (CAPS). When inhaled, these pollutants can lodge into your lungs, enter your bloodstream and circulate throughout the body.  CAPS affect the lungs, heart and brain and other organs and are linked to cancer, neonatal conditions, and respiratory conditions such asthma, bronchitis, or COPD. Excessive automobile emissions in the area further exacerbate conditions. This is an environmental justice issue in our community that affects the health and lives of our neighbors daily.
