Have you been curious about Tarot practice? Perhaps you have found yourself mystified by readers on social media and feel called to learn the art of reading into the depths of your own soul through the conduit of a sacred art. Or, you may be a seasoned practitioner, desiring a community event that provides an overview from a different perspective. From novice to master, all of us benefit from sharing community with other humans during exposure to a wide scope of foundational information for an area of interest. This workshop is designed to provide a foundational understanding of the art of divination through Tarot.
Topics of discussion include basics such as the suits in the Minor Arcana, a brief overview of the Major Arcana, and how to use numerology to enhance one’s comprehension and connection between cards. We will also delve deeper into what Tarot is, dispel common myths, the importance of regard for consent and ethics in spiritual practices, identify ways to form a relationship with the elaborate story of Tarot across the 78 individual pieces, and how to conceptualize the Tarot structure in a beneficial, grounded manner through crafting constructive questions and mindsets.
Our workshop will begin with community invocation: including introductions, an offering of a mudra (hand gesture to invoke a desired energy within to share with the entire self, extending it to all beings everywhere), and a brief guided meditation to facilitate connection with all parts of oneself and the community present. Once we have established our community container, we will review the schema of structured objectives. Each topic covered will have a handout, as a provision of structured information to reflect upon in your personal practice. This workshop will also be structured to allow for intermittent Q&A sessions with discussion amongst the community.
Attendance for this workshop is not contingent upon ownership of a Tarot deck; however, if you have one (or a few) that you would like to bring, you are welcome to do so! A writing utensil will be helpful in the event you want to take notes on the handouts; moreover, if you have a special journal, please feel free to bring it along to document this journey.
