Join us on September 24, for our spring Community Speaker Series event where we will welcome local TV host, author, and activist, Alison Mariella Désir.
As a recent transplant to the Pacific Northwest, Alison will discuss her reasons for moving here as well as the work that she does to increase representation and reveal history of BIPOC in the outdoors that has been intentionally sanitized and erased.
As a legacy conservation organization, Birds Connect Seattle is aware of our history in contributing to the erasure of BIPOC and Indigenous history and exclusion in the conservation and outdoor movement. We humbly welcome Alison and come to the conversation with an open mind and eagerness to continue in our antiracism work. We look forward to being on community with all who attend this important discussion.
Date: Tuesday, September 24, 6:30pm
Location: MLK F.A.M.E. Community Center - 3201 E Republican St, Seattle, WA 98112
