Chardon Township, in conjunction with Saefkow Training Center, is proud to announce its upcoming Community Safety Day, a hands-on, educational event designed to equip residents with critical, life-saving skills. The event will take place on Sunday, June 7th from 12:30 PM to 3:30 PM at Chardon Township Park.
This event is being organized and led by Saefkow Training Center, bringing expert-led instruction and real-world experience to each station.
This family-friendly event will feature a variety of interactive safety stations led by trained professionals and community partners. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn and practice essential emergency response techniques, including:
• Adult Hands-Only CPR
• AED (Automated External Defibrillator) use
• Infant CPR, including rescue breaths with barrier devices
• Naloxone (Narcan) administration for opioid overdose response
• Stop the Bleed techniques for severe bleeding control
• Recognition and response to life-threatening allergic reactions
• Mental health awareness and resources
The event will be open house style, allowing residents to stop in at any time and participate in as much or as little as they would like. Each individual or family who attends will receive interactive, hands-on education at every station. Whether it’s filling out a family emergency plan, learning hands-only CPR, or practicing with an EpiPen trainer, the goal is for every attendee to leave feeling confident and empowered with the ability to respond to an emergency—both at home and in the community.
This event is free and open to the public. Residents of all ages are encouraged to attend, participate, and engage with local safety professionals in a welcoming and informative environment.
