The Minnesota Marine Art Museum’s Curator of Learning and Community Impact, Heather Casper, will lead an interactive program in the "Across a Wide Ocean" exhibition at MMAM featuring the dynamic illustrations by Nikkolas Smith from the book "The 1619 Project: Born on the Water" by Nikole Hannah-Jones and Renée Watson and illustrated by Nikkolas Smith (Penguin Random House, 2021).
"Born on the Water" is one of two books featured in an exhibition at the Minnesota Marine Art Museum, "Across a Wide Ocean: Remarkable Stories about the Origins of Identity," on view January 27, 2024 - January 5, 2025.
This event is one of three 2024 Community Reads programs during the month of August that are presented in partnership with the Winona Public Library and the Minnesota Marine Art Museum.
