Community Pop-Up Shop & Showcase: Young Entrepreneurs

Crystal Graves community member of Cornwallis Apartments was awarded the Community Engagement grant with the City of Durham Neighborhood Improvement Department. With the help of American Underground and Wall Street Juniors, youth ages 6-18 will have the opportunity to explore over 5 Areas of Entrepreneurship (AOE) including vending, retail, graphic design, social media marketing, gardening, landscaping and much more.

To celebrate the students completing a 3-day Entrepreneurship Exploration Summer Camp, the youth are hosting a Community Pop-up Shop & Showcase. The youth-led community event will run from 2:00pm to 5:00pm with indoor and outdoor activities at Weaver Street Recreation Center for all ages. Students will have vendor tables with items and products prepared for sale. Wall Street Juniors will incorporate a Community Currency "Wall Street Junior Dollars" as the exchange currency for the event. Students will have support jars for their hard work and future initiatives.

This event will allow attendees to explore the exhibit tables with various workshops scheduled throughout the entire event.
