Pack Walks are FREE to the community!Meetup locations and times will vary, but they will all be in the Ottawa and surrounding areas. I will do my best to update the event every week to show the new location.
A Pack Walk is a walk with a purpose to provide socialization and exercise for your dog's mind and body. It’s not only great exercise and mentally stimulating, but a great opportunity to practice social skills in a safe and controlled environment. Your dog will learn how to handle real life situations and distractions from cars, cyclists, people, strollers, squirrels, fellow K9’s and much more!
All cancellations will be communicated through our Facebook page and our website.
Each pack walk is approximately 60 minutes, weather permitting. We will take a 10 minute break halfway through the walk.
A FEW GUIDELINES:
•When everyone arrives please keep distance from other walkers and dogs initially for respect and safety reasons. No dog should ever meet face to face on leash, everyone should refrain from using high pitched voices and be as calm and low-key as possible. Limit one dog per person.
•All dogs must be on a training collar or regular flat collar that is fitted properly. (Slip leads or other training collars will be provided if needed to teach you some new dog handling skills.)
•Leashes may NOT be longer than 6 feet. Retractable leashes will NOT be permitted.
•We request that dogs be walked at a heel or at least a loose leash. If you struggle with proper walking, we will be there to help you accomplish this goal.
•We also request that when out walking in the pack, you keep to the right of the sidewalk, road, or pathway. We try to provide ample room for other pedestrians to pass by.
