(Encore) Community Movement Exploration with Lisa Morgan, Jessica Loveall, and Grace Cooper
Griffin Foundation Gallery: Thursday, March 28
Performances begin at 6 & 6:30 p.m. We encourage you to enter the gallery at 6 or 6:30 p.m. for one of these 25-minute improvisational explorations!
Join us for a community movement exploration combining Charley Friedman’s immersive, auditory installation—Soundtracks for the Present Future–with improvisational movement by Lisa Morgan, Jessica Loveall, and Grace Cooper! Performances begin at 6 and 6:30 p.m. We encourage you to enter the gallery at one of these times.
Encoring their improvisational dance at audioVISUALIZE 2024, Lisa Morgan (CSU Dance), Jessica Loveall (CSU Dance/Poudre School District) and Grace Cooper (CSU Dance Graduate) return to Gregory Allicar Museum of Art to explore different ways of responding to the sound and physical landscape of this unique musical experience.
During their performances, the dancers will ask: “How do we greet the surprises in each moment and listen to acknowledge both the sound and each other?”
Their movements, anchored by a few repeated “landmarks,” will explore leading, following, initiating, echoing, and dissipating, using the labyrinthine pathways to inspire physical shapes, dynamics of motion, and qualities of interaction.
Free and open to all!
Registration is recommended, but not required.
