About this event

Join the VIMFF for a community mountain bike ride led by Essential Cycles on Saturday, June 22 from 12:00pm-2:00pm at Mount Fromme!

This event is by donation with a suggested amount of $15. All proceeds from ticket sales go directly to supporting the work of Colour the Trails.

After the ride, you’ll also receive a free drink ticket (non-alcoholic options available) to be used at the beer garden at the VIMFF Summer Fest, a free, family-friendly outdoor event. Come on out for film screenings, live performances, an artisan market, food trucks, a beer garden, and fun activities for the whole family from 1:00pm-8:30pm at the Shipyards in North Vancouver.

Registration:

To register, please select which group your riding skills best align with and complete the form. Please read the riding group descriptions carefully.

Riding Groups - 12 ppl max:

  • Beginner Group: The beginner group will head up the gravel road to Roadside Attraction (green trail) and Bobsled (flowy blue trail). You should be comfortable with the basics of mountain biking, including braking and body position, as you ride down green and blue trails.
  • Intermediate Group: The intermediate group will head up the gravel road to Expresso (rated black but considered dark blue). You must be comfortable riding blue trails and be ready to tackle black trails. If you need to walk a feature or section, that’s okay as long as you’re comfortable riding a variety of blue trails.
  • Advanced Group: The advanced group will head up the gravel road to Ladies Only and Skull (both Double Black). You must have a high level of technical descending skills and be comfortable with challenging technical trails.

Important Notes:

Hardtail or full suspension mountain bike required. If you need a rental bike for the community ride, please make sure a rental bike in your size is available for Saturday on the link here: https://www.essentialcycles.com/rentals. Please indicate on the form if you need a rental bike as Essential Cycles is offering a special discounted rate at $65 for the day. You will receive the rental code upon registration.

Helmets are required. We strongly recommend elbow pads and knee pads, as well.

If your riding group is full, please email [email protected] and indicate which group you’re interested in to be added to the waitlist.

We’re excited to see you on the trails soon!
