About this Event

Hi moon gazers,

Please join us for a mindful moonrise hike. Each month, we'll visit a location with a view of the eastern horizon to watch the moon and reflect on our intentions. We'll spend time connecting, mindfully walking in nature, and sitting at the top of the mountain until the moon graces us with her presence.

? What to expect on a mindful moonrise hike..

This experience combines hiking, community, and mindful reflection. On a mindful moonrise hike, you can expect to connect with like-minded hikers. Then, we will quietly walk to enjoy nature and sunset views together. At the top of the trail, we'll find a comfortable place to sit to share themes with this month's full moon and possibly a poem or a story.

We'll then sit quietly to watch the moon rise over the horizon. Soon after, we'll carefully head back to the trailhead and parking lot -- we'll need to be out within an hour after sunset.

We will be walking in the dark

Meet you Habitual Hiking guide: Val

Hi friends. My name is Val.

For years, I have found peace and healing in monthly moonrise hikes. The sunset colors combined with watching the moon rise above the horizon remind me of Earth's beauty and simple gifts. I am excited to share this monthly tradition with you all. I bring a background as an educator, UX designer, 200 hour trained yoga teacher and Reiki level 1 practitioner.

Excited to gaze at the moon with you all!
