Community Meeting: Unveiling the Liberty Dog Park & Open Space Project

Join us for an exciting evening as we unveil the transformative Liberty Dog Park & Open Space Project in Downtown Baltimore! In 2021, the Downtown Partnership of Baltimore (DPOB), in collaboration with the Office of the Mayor and the Economic Alliance of Greater Baltimore (EAGB), engaged with the Urban Land Institute (ULI) to identify key areas for improvement in Baltimore’s downtown core. From this study, it was determined that DPOB should lead the charge in linking and connecting Downtown’s assets through development, transportation, infrastructure, and placemaking.

Currently known as Liberty Dog Run, this transformed traffic median will evolve into a vibrant and essential green space, providing a much-needed park for the community, residents, and visitors. The Park Avenue & Liberty Dog Park & Open Space project will support various activities, including programming, food trucks, and community gatherings, aiming to inspire economic and real estate development in the surrounding areas.

Funding and Support

In 2022, DPOB secured capital funding through the State Legislature’s SB0291e, supporting multiple DPOB projects, including the Liberty Dog Park. We extend our gratitude to the Department of General Services for their assistance and collaboration.
