Community Lunch and Advent Garden

Advent is approaching: a time for inner preparation as we look forward to kindling the inner light that glows within us all. Join us, Sunday, December 8th for our annual Advent Garden experience. At 11:30, after Sunday services, all are invited to share a simple meal, and following that, to participate in the Advent Garden experience.

Rooted in Druid solstice practices, this ritual centers around evergreen boughs (a symbol of life everlasting) which are placed in a spiral form on the floor. The room is darkened, gentle music floats through the air and the mood is peaceful. The spiral begins; one at a time each participant walks into the spiral with an unlit candle. They make their way to the spiral’s center. There, a spiritual muse with a large lighted candle shares the light with each participant. They place their lantern with care somewhere along the spiral’s path and then they walk their way back to their seat for meditative reflection.--
