About this Event
The Community Literacies Center (CLC) is a joyful, family-centered literacy space rooted in culture, creativity, and community. Hosted in partnership with Project Row Houses and the University of Houston’s College of Education, the CLC offers free Saturday literacy experiences for children (K–8) and their families.
At the Community Literacies Center (CLC), families engage with stories that uplift diverse voices and spark joy. We believe literacy is wide and creative, and it lives in our stories, art, music, and in the ways we honor who we are. Through hands-on art-making and playful, multimodal activities, children and caregivers explore books in meaningful ways, nurturing imagination, critical thinking, and a love of reading that extends beyond the classroom.
