Don't miss this opportunity to enhance your facilitation skills and drive positive change!
This hands-on workshop will show you how to:
- Effectively facilitate group discussions
- Address conflict during meetings or group discussions
- Increase engagement and manage group dynamics
- Run focused, productive discussions
The Tampa Bay Regional Planning Council (TBRPC) has partnered with the University of Florida to host three of these workshops across the Tampa Bay region as part of the TBRPC’s new initiative to develop the . This plan aims to address flooding impacts across the Tampa Bay region by identifying flood-vulnerable communities, prioritizing flood reduction projects, and guiding adaptation strategies.
Why are listening sessions important? To gather community voices that will help us identify local flooding to ground truth the Coastal Master Plan’s flood mapping efforts as well as to better understand current perceptions of causes and potential solutions.
Why you? We may be experienced in planning and facilitation, but YOU are the experts of your communities. We are interested in finding folks that can gather a group of people to talk about their experiences with flooding issues in their communities. That can be volunteers, people who work with local organizations or clubs, government staff, local leaders, or other practitioners.
What's expected? After participating in this training, the expectation is that YOU will host your very own listening session with the knowledge and skills learned through this workshop. By hosting a listening session in your community, gathering input and sharing it back to the project team, we can incorporate the needs, desires and interests of the community into the planning process.
Thanks again for the very important role you play in linking the public with information and empowering action. If you have any questions, you can reach out to Lara Milligan, [email protected].
Note: Lunch will be provided and childcare can be provided.
