About this Event
the 100 Black Men of Greater
Charlotte (100blackmenclt) invite the greater Charlotte community to the 2022
Community Health Fair on Saturday, January 8th, 10am - 4pm. The free event will
be held at the Police Athletic League Youth Center (PAL) and offer the
community (1) blood donations, vaccinations, tests, screenings and (2)
educational resources.
1) COVID vaccinations and tests, blood donation, blood pressure, FLU
vaccinations, and HIV/PSA/STI tests
2) Sickle Cell education, substance abuse education, substance/tobacco
prevention and control education, under and uninsured healthcare options
education, and behavioral health education
Attendees can also participate in several free raffles for free gifts, speak with
specialized health experts, schedule follow-up appointments, and fill swag bags
with educational literature and complimentary gifts to share in their community.
Health & Wellness is one of the four pillars (in addition to mentoring, economic
empowerment & education) on which the foundation of the 100blackmenclt
organization stands. Organizing local health agencies, who provide free services
to the Charlotte community at large, is critical to combat the current surge in
COVID-19 variant cases as well as the long-term negative medial factors
commonly observed in the Black / African American community.
Often it is the youth who are not only negatively impacted by these preventable
health factors, but they are also disproportionately impacted by an additional
pandemic – Violence.
The Community Health Fair is executed in parallel to initiatives focused on
combatting both epidemics:
• the 100 Black Men of America’s participation in the national Sleeves Up
Violence Out campaign, an effort to increase youth vaccinations, blood
donation, and preventing violence to save lives
• the 100blackmenclt Stop The Violence campaign, aimed at reducing the rate
of violent crimes in Charlotte – where Black youth find themselves as victim,
suspect, and innocent bystander at an exponentially greater number than
non-Black youth
The 2022 Charlotte Community Health Fair is possible due to partnerships with
the following local community agencies providing free services:
• American Red Cross (https://www.redcross.org/local/north-carolina/greatercarolinas.

The 100 Black Men of Greater Charlotte improves the quality of life for the
communities we serve. Mentoring is the core service delivery of The 100, the largest
network of African American male mentors in the nation. We influence and transform
the lives of underrepresented and disenfranchised youth, with a focus on African
American youth. Through our platform of Mentoring The100 Way® Across A Lifetime,
we provide programmatic services in education, health and wellness, economic
empowerment and leadership development, which makes a fundamental difference in
the lives of the youth we impact and the communities we serve.
About 100 Black Men of America, Inc.
100 Black Men was founded as an organization in New York City in 1963. The national
organization, 100 Black Men of America, Inc. began with nine chapters in 1986 as a
national alliance of leading African American men of business, public affairs and
government with a mission to improve the quality of life for African Americans,
particularly African American youth. These visionaries included businessmen and
industry leaders such as David Dinkins, Robert Mangum, Dr. William Hayling, Nathaniel
Goldston III, Livingston Wingate Andrew Hatcher, and Jackie Robinson. Since
inception, the vision emerged and grew to over 10,000 members impacting over
125,000 underserved, underrepresented minority youth annually. Visit
