(((Be sure to read the entire event description if you plan to burn!)))
Seattle Flow Arts Collective is thrilled to be hosting another Community Fire Jam! Many thanks to everyone who made the last one such a success, we can't wait to do it again!
**Note that this week we'll be at Gasworks Park!**
Fire spinners of all skill levels are encouraged to attend, as are those who don't plan to spin fire but would like to watch and/or play with LED or day props. Everyone who ~spins fire~ at these events is required to register at least 8 days in advance (see form below) and complete our orientation/safety training once per calendar year.
REGISTER TO BURN HERE: https://forms.gle/4L7usNreaS5BXwgA8
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Given the recent spikes in COVID cases, we'll be asking all attendees to wear a mask while checking in at the front desk, standing in line at the fuel depot, and while fueling your prop, regardless of vaccination status. Thank you for helping us keep everyone safe and making this event possible!
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Location: Gasworks Park, on the concrete next to the large metal structures
There are bathrooms available at the park.
Time: We start at 7:00 and go til 10:30pm! The park closes at 11:00.
Orientation will happen at 7:00 and 8:30. Arrive as early as 6:30 to get checked in.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This is a pay-what-you-can/free event. Donations are deeply appreciated and help keep our flame burning.
Suggested donation is $10-20.
Payments can be sent via PayPal at https://paypal.me/seattleflowarts, via our donation page at www.seattleflowarts.org/donate, or in person using Venmo or cash.

IF YOU PLAN TO SPIN FIRE:
Register in advance: *Make sure you fill out our Google form 8 days before the event!* That means by midnight on Wednesday the 6th. This is required by the Fire Department for our permit so there is no wiggle room! We can’t let you spin if you don’t sign up! HERE IS THE LINK: https://forms.gle/4L7usNreaS5BXwgA8
Orientation: We’ll have a *required* safety and annual event orientation for every spinner! We'll post the schedule for these orientations closer to the event. If you completed orientation previously you do not need to do so again until 2022.
Volunteer: We need your help to keep the show running! When you sign up to spin, you’ll be asked to pick a volunteer shift with either the Sign-in Desk, Fuel Depot, Safety, or Set-up/Tear-down Crew. This also gives you a chance to connect with your community and learn more about event production and fire safety. Volunteer shifts are assigned when you check in, and we know that many who register in advance won't actually be able to attend - that's okay! We've got a system, just go ahead and fill out the form and we'll manage the rest. <3 Interested in more ways you can help? Email us at [email protected].
Dress to Impress… And Not Catch on Fire: Make sure to wear natural fibers or fire retardant treated clothing! Cotton, leather, & denim are all safe bets. Leave the synthetics, feathers, and fur at home. Spin barefoot at your own risk!
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
COVID Guidelines
- Masks are required while checking in at the front desk, standing in line for fuel, and while in the fuel depot. *Don't forget to take any flammable/non-fire resistant masks OFF before you light up!*
- Maintain a distance of about 6 feet from people who aren't part of your household.
- Please stay home if you have any symptoms of COVID or have been recently exposed to someone who is sick.
- Use hand sanitizer and sanitize props between use if sharing (we'll provide sanitizer).
- Be mindful of people's various comfort zones and vaccine statuses by asking about people's boundaries - especially before hugging or touching others.
